b-activists: What do cab drivers in Mumbai have to say about the 2008 attacks?

Have you ever asked a cab driver anything other than “take me to the corner of this and that?

Friend of Breakthrough, Vandana Sood, has a fascinating multimedia project, The Taxi Takes On Terror.  She and her team in Mumbai films conversations between taxi drivers that witnessed the attacks in 2008 and passengers.

She chose cabbies because they are the “links of exchange and contact with people from various backgrounds.”

In addition to video, and using a blog to distribute the media, she will be working with an art gallery here in NYC to tie in the 9/11 attacks.

So, next time you hop in a cab, strike up a conversation. You might just learn something.
