b-the change: This V-Day will you unmarry your spouse, until gay marriage is legalized?

This Sunday, in honor of Valentine’s Day, activist Reverend Billy Talen (who we interviewed last year) is calling on married couples to undo their status until gay marriage is legalized.

Couples can unmarry through a ritual conducted by Rev. Billy, sing “tragic and hopeful love songs” and receive a unmarried certificate “suitable for framing.”

Rev. Billy is calling on all married couples to unmarry and telling those waiting to be wed to hold off until all people can be included in the institution.

So skip the traditional box of chocolates and fancy dinners and go protest Proposition 8 while advocating the legalization of ALL marriage.

The “Unmarriage until Gaymarriage” ceremony is at 1pm at Bethesda Angel in Central Park, 7nd St.
