breakthrough beat: Our Rights Reporters tell the story of Muslim women in Lucknow, India

We think when young people have access to cameras, pretty powerful stories unfold.

We’re announcing a new program with that in mind for our Rights Advocates, called “Rights Reporters.” They are producing short videos on domestic violence and women’s rights that will be posted on the Bell Bajao blog.

Check out the first, “Muslim Women in Lucknow,” by Rights Reporter, Ashish. In this video we meet two young women who speak about attitudes towards education in their communities, personal experiences, prejudice faced by friends and peers, and the remarkable perseverance mothers show in educating their daughters.

Stay tuned on theĀ Bell Bajao blog for more videos from our Rights Reporters.
