culture shockers: Congress finally reversing injustice in crack cocaine laws

On Wednesday, the Senate unanimously passed legislation that would finally cut down the sentencing for crack cocaine possession. Since 1986, Congress enacted harsher laws for crack cocaine possession in response to the crack epidemic during the 1980s. Even though the epidemic ended in 1990, crack cocaine users have 100 times higher sentencing than powdered cocaine. [...]
